Waivers
Every free agent is on waivers until the first week of the season is over; after that a player released in season is on waivers for one day. Claims are processed every morning around 10am Eastern. The order resets each Monday to the reverse of the standings, and a club that wins a claim drops to the back until the next reset. A claimed player plays out the season on a minimum deal; anyone nobody claims becomes a free agent.

Transaction history
Signings, releases and trades, newest first — the moves that change who is on a roster. Cap edits, settings changes and corrections are not roster moves and are left out. The commissioner can reverse an entry.
Lineup
Anybody may sit on the bench; a benched player's stats do not count for the night. The injured reserve is off the lineup entirely and sits outside the roster limit — activating a man from it when the club is full asks you which player to release. Go back a night with the arrows to see what scored.

Auction strategy
Your own board, stored under your sign-in and never written to the league state — no other GM and no commissioner can see it. Rank the players you want, flag how badly you want each one, and note the most you would go. That max is a planning figure only: it places no bid, sets no automatic bid, and binds nothing.

Rookie draft
One pick each, in reverse order of finish — the champion picks last. Every selection is three years at the salary the league attached to that slot, with a rookie option on the last. Rookies sign after the auction and do not consume auction cap space, but the hard cap still binds: a club with no room passes. Anyone nobody takes becomes an ordinary free agent and turns up in the auction.

League chat
Anyone signed in can post, and every club sees it. This is the same honour-system bar as the rest of the app — posts are stored in the league database with no authentication in front of them, so write nothing here you would mind the whole league, or anyone with the link, reading. You can delete your own posts; the commissioner can delete any.
Enter posts, shift+Enter starts a new line. 600 characters.
Settings
Your club, your address and your PIN. Everything here is yours to change; nobody else's club is reachable from this page.
Who you are
Your real first and last name. A club name can change — and clubs do get renamed, sold and handed on — so this is the league's record of who actually ran this club, and it stays with the club whatever it later calls itself.
Club name
The name every screen calls your club, and the name league-mates offer trades to. Renaming carries your roster, your picks, your open offers and your place in the auction's nomination order across with it. The transaction log is left as it was — it is the record of what happened under the name you had at the time, and rewriting history to match a new name would make the ledger lie.
Team colours
Your club's colour and badge, shown next to its name across the league — standings, the tale of the tape, the club page and Home. Up to three letters.
PIN
Sign-in is honour-system: anyone who views the page source can read every PIN, so this stops accidents and keeps an audit trail rather than a determined league-mate. Changing it re-keys your notes, projections and strategy board, which are encrypted under it — they are carried over for you.
Box scores
Every player who played that night, from the morning's box scores — the same numbers scoring reads. Filter to the free agents to see who is available and producing, or to your own club. GS is a simple game score (points + rebounds + assists + 2 × steals and blocks − turnovers) used only to sort.
Player rater — 2025–26
The field ranked the way this league counts, on whichever numbers the stats bar above is showing — this season's last 7, 15 or 30 days or season so far, 2025–26, the 2026–27 projection, or your own. Every category is a z-score against the pool; shooting percentages are weighted by attempts, so a big volume of bad free throws hurts more than a handful does. Add the scored columns and you get the rating. Players under 15 games are listed but unrated. The rating is recomputed against whichever source is showing, so it is the same number the Players tab and the strategy board give you. Per game or season totals changes what every z-score is computed from — on totals a durable player passes a better one who played less, which is the 920-game cap showing up. Dynamic rater is your own scratch version: set a games or minutes floor and choose which categories count, and the whole field is re-scored against what is left. It is scored against the players who clear your filters, not the league, so it is marked in blue throughout and stays on this tab — nothing it says reaches the strategy board, the auction or anyone else. The club column is where he is now, not where he was when these numbers were taken, and anyone nobody has signed for next season reads as a free agent — including the men playing out the last year of a deal. This is a record of last season, not a projection.

Available free agents
Free agent class
Every expiring contract. Restricted players finished the last year of a team, player, or rookie option — their club may match the winning bid. Bird rights let a club exceed the cap to keep its own player, but it still has to win the bidding.
My projections
Your own numbers for next season, private to you. Nothing here is shared with the league. Edit a player and every projection on the site — impact cards, ratings, standings — switches to your figures whenever a stats bar is set to Mine. Blank fields fall back to last season's actuals.

Cap rules
Salary cap
The cap is soft. You can exceed it only through Bird rights, Early Bird, the mid-level exception, or minimum contracts.
Luxury tax
The tax line is a hard cap. No team's salary may exceed it at any point, for any reason. No exception beats it.
Bird rights
Three seasons with one club without clearing waivers or changing teams as a free agent. Lets the club exceed the cap to re-sign its own player, up to four years with raises to 7.5%. Rights travel in a trade.
Early Bird
Signed mid-season before the deadline and finished the year on the roster. Lets the club go up to $7.00 over the cap to re-sign him.
Restricted free agents
Only players who finished the last year of a team, player, or rookie option. The old club sits out the bidding, then chooses whether to match. All cap rules apply to the match.
Mid-level exception
Once a year. Over the cap $5.50 up to 4 years; under the cap $3.25 up to 2 years. May be split between players.
Minimum contracts
$1.00 for up to 2 years. Signable over the cap, with no limit on how many, as long as the hard cap holds.
Escalation
$0.75–$3.75 does not escalate. From $4.00 up, raises are 4.5% normally or 7.5% with Bird rights. Raises never compound and always round up to the next $0.25.
Cutting a player
Release anyone at any time. Cut in season and the salary stays on the cap until that season ends, then clears. Cut in the offseason and the money comes off immediately and every remaining year is voided.
On a deal of two years or more, the club that released him cannot re-sign him during the first offseason after the release. He may be signed during the following season to a one-year minimum contract; a multi-year deal has to wait for the next offseason. Other clubs face no restriction.
Trades
Over the cap, incoming salary is capped at 150% of outgoing up to $9.75, outgoing plus $5.00 from $10.00–$19.50, and 125% at $19.75 and up. Offseason mismatches create a trade exception that expires after the next deadline.
Rookie draft
Three years with a rookie option on the last. First pick is 3.57% of the cap rounded up to $0.25, each later pick $0.25 less. Rookies sign after the auction and don't eat auction cap space, though the hard cap still binds — a club with no room passes. One pick per club, in reverse order of finish. Anyone undrafted becomes an ordinary free agent and turns up in the auction.
Draft picks in trades
A club may trade this year's pick or one from a later draft. A future pick can carry a protection — "top N protected" keeps it at home if it lands in the first N slots — and the obligation can be set to roll to the next draft instead of lapsing. Picks move $0 and take up no roster spot.
Waivers
Claim order runs worst record to best, reset weekly. A claimed player finishes the season on a minimum contract, then becomes a free agent.
Every free agent is on waivers until the first week of the season is over; after that a player released in season is on waivers for one day. Claims are processed every morning. The order resets each Monday to the reverse of this site's standings as they stood that morning (ties to the club with fewer points); until a night has been scored it follows the auction nomination order, and a club that wins a claim drops to the back until the next reset. A club with a full roster names a player to drop with its claim. Anyone nobody claims becomes an ordinary free agent.
Commissioner tools
League settings
The mid-level exception is what a club over the salary cap may still spend, and it splits across as many players as it covers — each club's remaining balance shows on its own page. A signing that uses any of it runs two seasons. It never beats the hard cap. Salary matching is off, so a trade goes through on the hard cap and the roster limit alone; switch it on to enforce the rulebook's outgoing-salary bands as well.
Email the league
One message to every club that has an address on file. It goes out from the league's own address; addresses are never typed here and never leave the rosters slice. Plain text — blank lines start a new paragraph. Only the commissioner login can send this, and it counts against the daily send ceiling, so a note that would breach it sends to nobody rather than to half the league.
Add a player to the pool
The player list is a transcription of last season and it is a snapshot — a man signed since, a call-up, or somebody the sheet simply missed has no row, and so cannot be nominated, drafted or signed. Add him here and he joins the free agent pool. He carries no statistics, the same as an undrafted rookie: nothing here invents numbers for a player nobody has any for.
Clubs
Add a club to the league. It starts empty, with no PIN — the first person to sign in as it claims it. Nine clubs is the league as it stands; the cap, the tax and the 920-game limit are all per club, so nothing else needs changing.
Removing a club is permanent. Its roster, its release history, its picks and any offer it is part of go with it. The one case you are likely to need it for is a club that appears twice under an old and a new name — remove the stale one.
GM access
Set or reset each GM's PIN, and hold the address the league emails. A club with no PIN is claimed by whoever signs in first, so set them all before you share the link.
Commissioner access
A club named here keeps its own team — its own roster, its own notes, its own turn on the auction's nomination snake — and also gets this tab and everything on it, including awarding players at auction. It is a second commissioner who still has a club to run, not a second commissioner login. Only the commissioner login can change this list, so a deputy can neither promote himself nor remove the man who appointed him.
Season phase
The offseason allows auctions, cuts that clear salary immediately, and roster building. Once the season is live, cuts keep their salary on the books until the year ends, and the injured reserve and nightly lineups open up. Roster size is the ACTIVE limit — the injured reserve sits outside it, so 15 active with 1 IR slot is the rulebook's sixteen men, and only while one of them is hurt. Closing the season empties the injured reserve, which can leave a club one over; it is told, and its GM chooses who goes.
Advance the league year
Run this after a season has been played and before the next auction: it moves the league on to the following contract year. Every contract advances a year, deals with nothing owed in the new season become expiring, release bars from the season just gone lapse, and another season counts towards Bird rights. Nothing is rewritten to do it — a contract records what it owes in each named season, so advancing the year is all there is to it, and running it twice by accident cannot age anybody twice.
Auction nomination order
Round one runs top to bottom; round two runs back up, and so on — a snake. Only the club on the clock may put a player on the block, and a club already carrying a full roster is skipped, since it has nothing to bid with. Leave every row blank and nomination is a free-for-all, which is how it worked before.
Stats and scoring
The nightly jobs, and whether they are keeping up. Stats arrive from 5:15am Eastern and are scored half an hour later, hourly until about 9am; every run also re-reads the five nights before, so a stat correction is picked up on its own. Nothing here needs pressing for the league to work — the buttons are for checking a fix straight away rather than waiting for the morning.
Names ESPN does not know
Players under contract whose name matches nobody on an NBA roster at ESPN. Most are simply unsigned or overseas. But a spelling the box scores do not use means that player never scores and never locks, so if he is in the NBA, pick his ESPN name here.
Tip-off times
A player is frozen the moment his own game tips off — a five o'clock
game locks that man at five and leaves his team-mate on a half-seven game free for another two
and a half hours. These arrive on their own from the NBA's published schedule, once a day,
and nothing below needs saving for the lock to work. The box is only an override: put a club here
to correct a time the feed has wrong, or to run a night when the feed is down. One club per line,
DEN 19:00, on a 24-hour clock in league time. Anything you enter beats the feed for
that club and nothing else.
Auction room
Nobody may nominate or bid until this is open. The rookie draft has always worked this way and the auction now matches it — an offseason with the room unlocked meant any GM could put a player on the block days early, by accident, and the bidding was under way before anyone noticed. Opening and closing are both logged.
Rookie draft input
The order and the money are settled before anyone is on the clock, so both are entered here. Set a club against each slot — no. 1 is the club that finished last — and a salary for each. Auto-fill uses the rulebook scale: 3.57% of the cap for the first pick, rounded up to the next quarter, then a quarter less each pick. "Future drafts" is how many later drafts clubs may trade picks in.
Auction demo
Open a practice auction so the league can try bidding before the real thing. It uses a real free agent and seeds a few bids. Clearing it signs nobody.
Move a player
Fix a mistake without going through the trade machine.
Every player
Every contract in the league — the club, what he is owed, how long for, and the rights that club holds — plus every unsigned free agent in the player pool. Editing here writes straight to the roster and is logged like any other move. Unlike the Move tool above, expiring players are included, so a club's Bird or restricted rights can be corrected without signing anybody. An unrostered player has no contract to open, so his row opens the same dialog empty: give him a club and a salary and he is assigned, or leave the club blank and only his player record is saved — position, and the spelling the league spreadsheet uses for him.
The CSV carries the roster entry's own fields, not what the table draws:
salaries as plain numbers, the raw option and rights text, the year acquired, the IR and
block flags, and every spreadsheet spelling mapped onto a player. The key
column is the canonical name and is what identifies a player — leave it alone if you
mean to read the file back in later. "These rows" honours the filters above; the other
button ignores them.
